How much good can get done on a Saturday morning? It depends on how many people gather together to do it. Join Friends of Acadia at one of our signature volunteer events: The Earth Day Roadside Cleanup on the last Saturday in April, and Take Pride in Acadia Day on the first Saturday in November. For many people, these events have become an annual sign of the season, as essential as the first robin of spring or the first skim of ice on Acadia’s ponds each fall.
Friends of Acadia also sponsors or partners on shoreline cleanups, trail work parties, and other volunteer events throughout the year. See the Friends of Acadia Calendar for upcoming opportunities.
Participants should dress appropriately for the weather (including footgear suitable for outdoor work) and bring gloves if you have them, water, friends and family, and a sense of purpose! Registration is sometimes required and always appreciated for planning purposes. (See individual event pages for registration information.)
