Video: Trenton Community Trail Inauguration

A large crowd of hikers, volunteers and members of the Trenton community gathered Saturday morning, June 1st, to inaugurate the new Trenton Community Trail. Following a brief ribbon cutting ceremony, hikers took to the scenic 1.8 mile trail loop, which includes three bridges, interpretive panels, and a boardwalk, and viewing platform overlooking a native dwarf shrub bog.

The trail was planned and built through the efforts of many volunteers and partner organizations, led by Friends of Acadia and the all-volunteer Trenton Trail Committee.

The inauguration festivities took place on National Trails Day, which celebrates America’s hiking and walking trails with events and activities across the country.
