Planned Trail and Carriage Road Work Locations for Volunteers


Drop-in Stewardship Volunteer Program projects are organized for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the first week of June through mid-October. All are welcome — no experience or reservations required!

This year’s volunteer meeting location will be at the Hulls Cove Storage Facility, near the Visitor Center.

Saturday, October 21 – CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER

Project: Carriage Road Flossing
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Even terrain, some bending and lifting. Can be done seated or standing.
Leader: TBD

 

Tuesday, October 24

Project 1: DISCO SHED DAY
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Tasks can be done seated or standing.Cleaning, sharpening, and organizing oh my! (Disco ball, ABBA, and treats will be present)

Thursday, October 26

Project 1: TRICK OR TRAILS! Brushing the Asticou and Jordan Pond Path
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Uneven terrain, no elevation, some bending and lifting. ***costumes required***

Project 2: Carriage Road Drainage Location TBD
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Even terrain, some bending and lifting, mostly raking

Drop In to Help Out

Drop-in Stewardship Program volunteers help keep Acadia’s trails and carriage roads safe, accessible, and looking sharp. And half-day's work goes a long way. Come volunteer!

When and where to meet:

We’re looking forward to a lively 2023 season! This year’s volunteer meeting location will be at the Hulls Cove Storage Facility, near the Visitor Center. Find more details and directions on our FAQ page.
Work projects usually end between 12:00-12:15 p.m.

What to bring:

Wear closed-toed shoes and bring insect repellent, water, lunch, and work gloves
We provide all of the tools, safety gear, transportation, and instructions

The Drop-in Stewardship Volunteer Program is a partnership between Acadia National Park and Friends of Acadia. All projects are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
