Nurturing Tomorrow’s Stewards Through Seasonal Employment

Is there a better summer job for a young person than spending a season working in Acadia National Park helping to care for this amazing place and sharing its stories with the world?

Not from our perspective.

Friends of Acadia supports a variety of programs that offer job opportunities for teenagers through post graduate education, giving young people an opportunity to work directly with park staff for the betterment of Acadia, our natural resources and visitor safety.

From educating visitors on Leave No Trace Principles, to gathering important visitation statistics, to visually telling the stories of Acadia, these seasonal positions help the park in a myriad of ways, while also creating a pathway of employment for young adults.

By supporting these high-quality, partner-run internships, Friends of Acadia seeks to: Create life-long stewards of the environment, serve as a steppingstone for meaningful careers managing publics lands, and bring the youth perspective and voice to more of Acadia’s work.
