Friends of Acadia respects the privacy of its donors and does not disclose, sell, or exchange donor information to or with any person or any other entity unless required by law. We will, however, list donor names in the recognition rolls of the annual report and in a limited number of our other publications, unless a donor has chosen to make a gift anonymously.
1. Opt Out or Change Your Contact Information: You may opt out of receiving communications from us at any time (exception: if you make a donation or register for an event, an acknowledgement may still be sent via email). You may also contact us directly to update any contact information you have previously provided to us or temporarily unsubscribe from our E-News.
2. Reading and Downloading: When you read or download from our web site, we collect and store only the following information about you: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account, or princeton.edu if you are connecting from Princeton University’s domain), the date and time you access our site, and the Internet address of the web site from which you linked to our site.We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to visitors.
3. Sending Us an Email: You also may decide to send us personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a web form that provides us this information. We use personally identifying information from email primarily to respond to your requests. We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer your questions. We may also use your email address to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest. You may always opt out of receiving future mailings; see the “Opt Out” section above. We will not obtain personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary.
4. What We Publish: Names of new Friends of Acadia members are listed in the Friends of Acadia Journal, names of donors are listed in our annual report, and names of Benefit patrons are listed in the Benefit Preview Catalog unless the donor/member/patron has requested to be anonymous. These publications are produced in paper format and posted on our website. Photos (scenic or otherwise) submitted to Friends of Acadia may be published in the context specified by the person who submits them. We may publish photos of adults participating in Friends of Acadia events, and may caption them with names of adults appearing in those photos, in our paper or electronic publications, including but not limited to the Friends of Acadia Journal, Annual Report, website, and Facebook page. We may publish photos of children participating in Friends of Acadia events, but will not include the child’s name except in limited cases, and only with the permission of the child’s parent or guardian.
5. Use of Text and Images: If you would like to publish images or information that you find on our web site, please send your request to info@friendsofacadia.org.
6. Use of Links: Throughout our web pages, we provide links to other servers which may contain information of interest to our readers. We take no responsibility for, and exercise no control over, the organizations, views, or accuracy of the information contained on other servers. Creating a text link from your web site to our site does not require permission.
