NIKKI BURTIS

Stewardship Coordinator

Nikki joined Friends of Acadia seasonally as the Stewardship Assistant in 2021. In 2022, she was promoted to the Stewardship Coordinator position. Nikki coordinates with multiple park divisions to assist staff in stewarding Acadia’s many trails and carriage roads. Some of her favorite perks of the job are getting to plan large scale events for the community and work with all of the amazing volunteers that devote thousands of hours to Acadia each year.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from Chapman University, Nikki worked for the Oregon Department of Forestry, served two terms as an AmeriCorps member in California and Washington, and worked with the US Forest Service. Nikki enjoys all things outdoors whether its hiking, kayaking, or rollerblading and loves learning all about Acadia’s interesting and historic trail system.
