Marisa Marinelli Named Senior Development Officer

BAR HARBOR — Friends of Acadia welcomes Marisa Marinelli as its new Senior Development Officer for Major Gifts and Events. Marinelli will work with individuals, businesses, and partners to raise funds to help preserve and protect Acadia National Park. She replaces former Senior Development Officer Shawn Keeley who joined College of the Atlantic as its Dean of Institutional Advancement in March. (read more)

Spring issue of Acadia arrives soon

Acadia: The Friends of Acadia Spring Journal will be arriving in members’ mailboxes soon. The Spring 2021 issue includes features on Acadia’s virtual learning programs, the new Cadillac Mountain reservation system, park reopening plans for the 2021 season, and how Acadia awakens each spring. Earth Day Roadside Clean-up Postponed until 2022

BAR HARBOR, MAINE – In the interest of community health and safety amidst a stubborn spring rise in COVID-19 cases here in Maine, Friends of Acadia will not hold a formal Earth Day Roadside Clean-up in 2021. The event typically brings together hundreds of volunteers working together to pick up litter that has accumulated over the winter on MDI’s and Trenton’s roadsides. (read more)

32nd Annual Benefit Virtual and In-Person Events

We’re excited to announce our 32nd Annual Friends of Acadia Benefit on Aug. 14, 2021. Last year, we adapted to the challenges of Covid-19 by hosting our first-ever all virtual Benefit. Thanks to our amazing Benefit Committee and all of YOU – the virtual event was a resounding success. Thank you! As we look forward, we’re optimistic that public health and safety conditions with respect to the pandemic will improve. Thus, we’re planning a mix of in-person (assuming health conditions allow) and virtual events. Read more…
