Please be aware of downed trees and other debris on the carriage roads.

Bicycling and riding horses on the carriage roads are still prohibited.

During spring thaw each year (aka mud season), warmer weather and wet conditions soften the carriage roads and make them susceptible to damage. The NPS temporarily closes the carriage roads each spring to protect them. The carriage roads are currently dry enough for pedestrians, but they need to dry a little more for bicycling and riding horses.
