Planned Trail and Carriage Road Work Locations for Volunteers
Drop-in Stewardship Volunteer Program projects are organized for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the first week of June through mid-October. All are welcome — no experience or reservations required!
This year’s volunteer meeting location will again be at the Hulls Cove Storage Facility, near the Visitor Center (same location as last year while Park HQ is under construction). (Note: there is an “authorized vehicles only” as well as a “do not enter” sign, but if you are there to volunteer just continue past those!) Find more details and directions on our FAQ page.
Projects are posted here every Thursday for the following week.
Project 1: Bubble Pond carriage road maintenance

Trail Work in Costume at Trick-or-Trails on Oct. 29!
You’re never too old to dress up and do trail work! Join the Stewardship Volunteer Program on Thursday, Oct. 29, for Halloween fun at “Trick-or-Trails” as we celebrate the end of another successful drop-in volunteer season with one last project. Costumes aren’t required, but are highly encouraged!

Costumed Drop-in Stewardship volunteers pose in front of the Duck Brook Connector Trail during “Trick or Trails” in 2025. Volunteers wore costumes while they trimmed vegetation and raked leaves on Acadia’s trails. (Rhiannon Johnston/Friends of Acadia)
Special thanks to our presenting sponsor, Chilton Trust.
Drop-in Stewardship Program volunteers help keep Acadia’s trails and carriage roads safe, accessible, and looking sharp. And half-day's work goes a long way. Come volunteer!
