No place in the United States has completely escaped the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic — including Maine and Acadia National Park. From road and facilities closures, to suspensions of programming, to social distancing requirements, and orders to cease all “non-essential” activities and shelter in place, Acadia and the surrounding communities are all dealing with profound changes.

The items on this page and the linked content are intended to help people maintain a connection with Acadia National Park, a park loved so deeply during these difficult times. We are all striving to make socially responsible decisions and find ways to engage in best practices while restrictions remain in place. Thank you for being conscientious citizens during this crisis, and for being such strong supporters of Friends of Acadia and Acadia National Park.

The Friends of Acadia office may be closed to the public but please be assured we continue our important work to engage the next generation in conservation, to plan for a healthier, more resilient natural environment, and to work for more sustainable visitation solutions. Thank you for you for joining us in our mission to preserve and protect Acadia National Park. As always, your support of Acadia has ensured that the park is here when we need it the most. Please take good care and be well.
